Mucocele of the Paranasal Sinuses: Retrospective Analysis of a Series of Eight Cases

Background: Paranasal sinus mucoceles are epithelium-lined cystic masses usually resulting from obstruction of ostia. They most frequently occur in the frontal and ethmoid sinuses. The etiology is not clarified, but common identifiable cause following functional endoscopic surgery (FESS), trauma, neoplasms, allergy. clinical symptoms mucocele vary specific, being ophthalmic headache, impinging on adjacent orbital structures, causing sequelae such as double vision, commonly followed by swelling, epiphora, proptosis, ptosis. All patients this study had frontoethmoidal initially complained headache symptoms. Definitive treatment options for paranasal include external approaches marsupialization. Objective: aimed to identify etiology, presentation, para nasal affected mucocele, management, rate recurrence eight cases with Methods: Eight diagnosed sinuses were admitted our institution between 2014 2021.
